The Mourne Olympian Triathlon at Castlewellan boasts one of the best venues of the Irish triathlon calendar.Competitors swim 1500m through the pristine waters of Castlewellan Lake, bike 40K on closed roads through the rolling foothills of the Mournes and run 10K through the shaded woodlands of Castlewellan Forest Park.

Organised by Belfast's Olympian Triathlon Club, the event is open both to individuals and to relay teams – an ideal way to try out the sport. The venue is ideal for those looking to take part in their first open water event.
